We can apply labels to Folders, Files, ChangeSets, based on Date etc. It is very similar to applying labels in ClearCase. Typically it is taking a snapshot of set of files, so that you can build, view, or rollback changes.
The easiest way to apply label to any file or folder is to right mouse click and click on Apply Label…, here are the steps:
1. Open the source Control Explorer
2. Right mouse click on the Folder and Click Apply Label..
3. In the New Label Dialog box give a proper label and select whether you want to apply this label to the Latest Version, ChangeSet etc, and click on Create.
4. In the output window a message is displayed that the Label is created
5. The Label has been applied to all the Folders and Files starting from the root folder you applied the Label.
